Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Bilingual Supportive Service Assistant to assist low-income individuals and families in accessing essential resources and maintaining stable, safe living environments. This role is ideal for someone who is community-focused, organized, and comfortable working independently while supporting diverse populations. Key Responsibilities Assist individuals and families with applying for: Food stamps (SNAP) Utility assistance programs Housing and rental vouchers Childcare vouchers Support participants in understanding and maintaining landlord obligations and facilitating landlord communications Work with individuals to promote and maintain clean, safe, and healthy living environments Provide guidance and advocacy for low-income families and voucher recipients Plan and coordinate monthly community activities Conduct one training session per month focused on healthy living habits Maintain accurate documentation and client records Communicate effectively with community members, landlords, and partner agencies
Qualifications Required:
Bilingual in Spanish and English (spoken and written) High school diploma or equivalent Familiarity with rental assistance programs, housing vouchers, and low-income family services Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Willingness to work on-site
Preferred:
Experience working with community-based programs, social services, or case management Knowledge of public assistance programs and local social service resources
Schedule & Flexibility Part-time:
approximately 15 hours per week Potential to increase to 20 hours per week Flexible scheduling within program needs Work Environment This is an on-site role working directly with community members. Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
