The Community Specialist will act as the primary liaison between employers/community members. The Community Specialist will network with employers and people in the community to create viable job/volunteer opportunities, for each person served, to obtain and maintain employment in order to increase economic independence, self-reliance, social connections and the ability to grow within a career. The Community Specialist will ensure the individual's success in attaining and maintaining meaningful community employment and community engagement. High School diploma or GED is required. Experience working with persons with developmental disabilities individually and in groups, for at least six months, is preferred. Experience with community outreach programs preferred. Knowledge of Day Habilitation practices, Community Inclusion regulations, training strategies, and supports. •Must be able to use personal vehicle for daily transport•After, 30 days, pay will increase to $18.00/hour.
