Yonkers, NY Job Details Part-time $21 an hour 1 day ago Benefits 401(k) Qualifications Working with individuals with developmental disabilities Passenger vehicle Transporting special needs passengers Assisting with ADLs High school diploma or GED Driver's License Personal transportation assistance Full Job Description About the Role TRAC Autism is dedicated to helping individuals with developmental disabilities build independence, confidence, and meaningful connections through recreational, social, and community activities. We are currently seeking a compassionate and reliable Community Habilitation Specialist to provide one-on-one support to an individual in Yonkers, NY. Responsibilities Provide individualized support in the community and home settings Assist the individual in developing independent living and social skills Support participation in recreational, fitness, educational, and community-based activities Encourage community integration and engagement Assist with transportation to and from community activities, appointments, and outings Implement goals outlined in the individual's service plan Complete required documentation and progress notes in a timely manner Maintain professional communication with families and supervisors Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license are required Ability and willingness to transport the individual in your personal vehicle Clean driving record Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and demonstrate professionalism in community settings Must pass all required background checks Preferred Qualifications Experience as a DSP, Community Habilitation Worker, Teaching Assistant, Paraprofessional, Recreation Specialist, or Behavioral Technician CPR/First Aid certification Experience supporting children, adolescents, or adults with developmental disabilities If you are passionate about helping others build independence and enjoy working in the community, we'd love to hear from you!
