Garfield Heights, OH Job Details Part-time $20 an hour 4 hours ago Qualifications HR communication Collaboration Managing social services clients Intake Community outreach Organizational skills Proactiveness Full Job Description Community Health Worker Founded in 1975, Womankind's mission is to walk with women along the journey of pregnancy and beyond by providing free prenatal care, personal support, and social services in a caring and nonjudgmental environment. The Community Health Worker supports the organization's social work team by assisting clients in accessing resources, navigating services, and receiving compassionate, dignity centered support. This role serves as a trusted point of connection for individuals and families, helping reduce barriers and strengthen continuity of care. The Community Health Worker must align with and actively support Womankind's philosophy, values, and approach to client care, and interact with clients in a respectful, nonjudgmental manner.
Reports to:
Executive Director via Director of Social Services Part-time, 16 hours/week, as negotiated Public office hours are 10 am to 4 pm Mon-Thurs; 10 am to 2 pm Fri, while work hours are between 9 am and 5 pm weekdays-as negotiated. Some "outside typical work hours" expected Key Responsibilities Support social workers with client intake, follow-up, and care coordination Assist clients in accessing community resources such as healthcare, housing, food, and basic needs Provide education and encouragement to support client stability and wellbeing Maintain accurate documentation while protecting client confidentiality Collaborate with staff and community partners to support client goals Help create a welcoming, supportive environment for all clients Qualifications Experience in community health, social services, case management, or related field preferred. Certification is a plus. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team proactively Commitment to the mission, philosophy, and values of Womankind. Assumption of role to be evaluated at 90 days from start and annually after 90-day, unless otherwise warranted. Candidates will have criminal background check completed as part of hiring process.
