This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to engage with diverse communities, provide essential testing services, and educate individuals on HIV prevention strategies. Your energetic approach and compassionate communication will empower clients to take control of their health and foster healthier communities. Responsibilities
  • 1.Provide HIV testing, outreach, and education for the HIV Testing and Linkage program.
  • 2. Assist in facilitation of client flow and coordination of all clients
  • 3. Refer, schedule, and maintain appointments for HIV and STD testing.
  • 4. Accurately complete required assessment forms, lab requisitions, and additional written materials
  • 5. Collect and collate oral specimens.
  • 6. Assist in data entry and preparation of monthly reports.
  • 7. Follow universal safety precautions.
  • 8. Provide and maintain an atmosphere that incorporates the standards and protocols HIV Testing and Linkage program at the Health Education Learning Project
  • 9. Provide pre and post-test health education and screening regarding HIV/STD infection, transmission, prevention, and testing
  • 10. Participate in staff meetings and other meetings as needed
  • 11. Link HIV positive clients to local medical facilities and other community resources
  • 12. Ensure HIV positive clients maintain enrollment in medication services
  • 13. Participate in ongoing training as needed.

Able to do night outreach. Individuals must have HIV 500, 501 and be certified as a HIV counselor Requirements Proven ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or from diverse backgrounds. Strong skills in teaching, public speaking, and motivational interviewing to engage community members. Experience in data collection, record keeping, and reporting for health initiatives. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate clearly and empathetically. Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team in fast-paced environments. Pay:
$38,000.00 - $41,000.00 per year
