Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Shelter Security professional to ensure the safety, security, and well-being of residents, staff, within our shelter environment. This role is vital in maintaining a secure atmosphere where individuals can access support services confidently. The Shelter Security team member will actively monitor the premises, manage access points, and respond swiftly to any emergencies or conflicts. A strong sense of responsibility, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle crisis situations with professionalism are essential for success in this position. Duties Monitor entrances and exits to control access for residents, staff, and service providers Conduct regular patrols of the shelter Assist with crisis intervention and conflict management to de-escalate tense situations effectively Maintain detailed logs of incidents, visitor entries, and security activities through accurate data entry and filing Support intake procedures by verifying identities and ensuring a safe environment during resident admissions Experience Familiarity with data collection, case management, and filing systems for shelter operations Strong communication skills with the ability to interact compassionately with diverse population Join us in creating a safe haven where individuals can rebuild their lives!
