Cytotechnologist I

Reporting to the Histology/Cytology Section Head, this position performs cytologic evaluation of non-gynecological slide preparations, in accordance with departmental policies and procedures, for the presence of malignancy and/or other abnormal disease processes. The cytotechnologist will also be responsible for assisting the pathologist/physician in thyroid fine needle aspiration adequacy, as well as Rapid On-site Evaluation from Endobronchial Ultrasound procedures. In addition, maintains diagnostic reports, quality assurance and procedure manual. QUALIFICATIONS

Current California Cytotechnologist license required. Experience in non-GYN screening. Word processor, spreadsheet and Laboratory Information Systems knowledge. Experience assisting with Fine Needle Aspirations and Rapid On-site Evaluations.
