Job Description

JPCR Laboratory Technician — Molecular Diagnostics (Part-Time or Full-Time)
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a detail-oriented PCR technician to join our molecular diagnostics laboratory. Both part-time and full-time schedules are available. The ideal candidate is adaptable and comfortable performing all phases of the testing process — from specimen accessioning through DNA extraction, PCR amplification, and results analysis. Flexibility to rotate across all bench functions is required. Hourly rate is dependant on experience on the bench, KEY
RESPONSIBILITIES
Receive, accession, and process incoming specimens according to established protocols Perform manual DNA extraction using Promega extraction kits Operate the KingFisher Flex automated extraction instrument Set up and run PCR assays for nail and fungal testing Operate QuantStudio 3, 5, or 7 real-time PCR instruments and analyze results Perform all bench functions with full rotation — accessioning, extraction, amplification, and analysis Maintain accurate test records and follow all laboratory SOPs
REQUIREMENTS
Prior PCR laboratory experience required Experience with any or all of the following strongly preferred: Promega manual extraction, nail and fungal PCR assays, KingFisher Flex, QuantStudio 3 / 5 / 7 Ability to perform all aspects of molecular testing workflow independently Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation ASCP, AMT, or equivalent certification preferred but not required Must be able to adapt schedule and rotate to fill testing needs as volume demands
