Full Job Description Job Description Position Summary:
Seeking an experienced Microbiology Technologist for a travel assignment in its clinical laboratory. The selected candidate will perform a wide range of microbiology testing procedures, specimen processing, organism identification, molecular diagnostics, and quality assurance activities to support accurate and timely patient diagnosis. This position requires strong microbiology experience and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced hospital laboratory. Key Responsibilities
  • Perform microbiology specimen processing, accessioning, and culture plating.
Read and interpret microbiology cultures, including aerobic, anaerobic, fungal, viral, and mycobacterial cultures. Perform Gram stains and evaluate positive blood cultures. Conduct organism identification and antimicrobial susceptibility testing. Perform molecular testing using platforms such as BioFire and Cepheid , including PCR testing. Execute rapid diagnostic testing for RSV, Strep, Influenza, COVID-19, MRSA, C. difficile, and other infectious diseases. Maintain quality assurance and quality control procedures in accordance with laboratory standards. Process and handle laboratory specimens using proper laboratory techniques, including pipetting and specimen collection. Perform laboratory testing in chemistry, hematology, coagulation, immunology/serology, and urinalysis as needed. Ensure accurate documentation within the laboratory information system. Float to other laboratory areas within scope of practice as required. Adhere to all hospital safety, infection prevention, and regulatory guidelines. Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Microbiology laboratory experience (required). Previous travel experience required ; first-time travelers will not be considered.
  • ASCP Certification required. Experience working in a hospital clinical laboratory. Any Specific Mandate skill required
  • Proficiency in Microbiology specimen processing and culture plating Strong experience with Gram stains and positive blood cultures Experience with BioFire & Cepheid molecular testing
  • PCR testing , organism identification, culture reading, and antimicrobial susceptibility testing Knowledge of laboratory quality assurance and quality control HL01
Pay:
$1,650.00 - $1,850.00 per week Application Question(s):

  • Have you worked as a travel Microbiology Technologist before? (First-time travelers are not accepted.)
