The Biorepository Technologist is responsible for performing and recording laboratory tests that encompass a broad range of sophistication and assists in quality control for studies, research and development of new procedures, teaching students and orientation for new personnel. This role involves biospecimen processing and banking, identification, archiving, storage, retrieval and shipping of tissue specimens (solid and liquid) that are located in theHMHN BioR. Sophisticated testing technology is employed within appropriate quality control parameters. The Biorepository Technologist may be responsible for performing basic and translational laboratory processing techniques related duties and may require using scientific approaches and methods that involve experiments requiring constant monitoring and analyses throughout the day. This role will maintain communication with Biorepositories within the HMH network.
Qualifications:
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required :
Bachelor`s degree. General understanding of Liquid Handling and Automation. Flexible in work schedule. Must be available to stay late to process samples as needed. Ability to work well with others in a team environment. Good organization and record-keeping skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred :
Minimum of 1 year of experience in basic science lab work. Experience with or ability to learn the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) database. If you feel that the above description speaks directly to your strengths and capabilities, then please apply today!
