Are you a skilled mass spectrometry professional ready to do meaningful work in a science-driven environment? ZRT Laboratory is looking for a Mass Spectrometry Technician II to join our laboratory team in Beaverton, Oregon.

Role:
As a Mass Spectrometry Technician II, you will perform high-complexity laboratory testing using LC-MS and GC-MS instrumentation to analyze patient samples. You will maintain quality control standards, operate and troubleshoot mass spectrometry equipment, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives — all in a collaborative team environment focused on delivering accurate, timely results for clinical and research samples.
What You'll Do:
Testing & Analysis:
Perform high-complexity testing on patient samples using LC-MS and GC-MS instrumentation Operate and perform routine maintenance on mass spectrometry equipment Use ZRT's LIMS system for testing and analysis of clinical and research samples Review test results for accuracy and completeness Maintain technical competency through ongoing training and continuing education
Quality Control & Compliance:
Adhere to laboratory quality control policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) Maintain all required records and document laboratory activity Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, and applicable state regulations Maintain HIPAA compliance when handling test results Perform safe handling of hazardous chemicals, liquid nitrogen, and biological specimens Dispose of hazardous waste and biohazardous materials according to safety protocols Maintain a clean, orderly, and well-stocked work area
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor of Science degree in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or appropriate science credits to work in a high-complexity laboratory 1 year of ZRT Mass Spectrometry Technician I experience OR 5+ years of general mass spectrometry experience Strong attention to detail with the ability to read and comprehend test results Technical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities Ability to manage multiple processes running in parallel Proficiency with LIMS, database software, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Strong documentation, technical writing, and organizational skills Ability to work both independently and collaboratively Why ZRT?
