Cytotechnologist Specialized Diagnostic Laboratory Location:
Greater Nashville Area, TN Schedule:
Monday Friday 8:00 AM 4:30 PM (No Weekends)
Type:
On-Site / Full-Time The Opportunity Join a high-precision diagnostic team in one of the fastest-growing healthcare hubs in the country. We are seeking a detail-oriented Cytotechnologist (CT ASCP) to play a critical role in early disease detection and patient care. This position offers a stable, daytime schedule in a professional laboratory environment that values accuracy, safety, and continuous improvement. The Role You will be responsible for the microscopic examination of gynecological and non-gynecological cellular samples. Your expertise will directly impact patient outcomes by identifying pre-malignant and malignant conditions through meticulous slide analysis.
Core Responsibilities Microscopic Analysis:
Examine clinical slides daily in accordance with established department protocols and productivity guidelines.
Data Integrity:
Record findings accurately in the laboratory information system and maintain all required departmental logs.
Problem Solving:
Identify and resolve issues that may impact test performance or the reporting of patient results.
Operational Support:
Perform routine instrument maintenance and troubleshoot methodologies to ensure peak lab performance.
Quality Assurance:
Actively participate in the documentation and maintenance of the department s QA/QC programs.
Compliance & Safety:
Adhere to all laboratory safety precautions, HIPAA regulations, and corporate privacy policies to protect sensitive patient data.
Qualifications Education:
Graduation from an approved School of Cytotechnology (Minimum 2 years of college).
Licensure:
Must hold an active Tennessee Cytotechnologist License .
Certification:
National certification by the ASCP as a Cytotechnologist is required.
Experience:
