11:00pm - 7:30am Job Overview A Medical Laboratory Scientist with Mattison Pathology, LLP dba Magnolia Diagnostics will perform all routine and complicated molecular laboratory procedures. This includes specimen processing and handling, testing of patient specimens, reporting results, performing quality control, and operation and maintenance on all equipment. This position may also perform other related duties as requested. This role involves working in a laboratory setting, conducting experiments, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive projects forward. Duties Following the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling, and processing, test performance and analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of patient results. Perform Proficiency testing and maintain records. Adhering to the laboratory's Quality Control policies and documenting all Quality Control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and instrument maintenance. Competently perform assigned duties Perform pre-analytical tasks including but not limited to specimen receipt and preparation of samples for testing. Evaluate and report test results in a timely manner. Recognize, report, and troubleshoot unusual test results. Operate equipment according to established protocols within quality control limits. Recognize and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions adhering to the standard operating procedures. Perform other tasks as assigned. Responsible for performing laboratory tests as a measure for the diagnosis and prognosis of infectious diseases; knowledge of lab equipment and procedures. Being able to identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or test result reporting and correcting the problem. Following the laboratory's policies, including documenting all corrective actions, whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance.
