Here's What You Need Associate degree in Cytology required Bachelor's degree in Cytology required AND Other completion of training from an approved school of Cytotechnology 1-3 years of Cytology experience highly preferred 1 year of hospital specialty preferred CT (ASCP) Cytotechnologist 6 months required OR CT (IAC) Cytotechnologist 6 months required OR SCT (ASCP) Specialist in Cytotechnology required What You Will Do Specimen Processing Stain/Equipment maintenance Assists in obtaining fine needle aspiration biopsies and preparing and staining slides for rapid assessment by the pathologist. Maintains knowledge of computer software applications and uses computer applications competently as related to the specific task required for each assigned job responsibility.
