Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Orthodontic Chairside Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the orthodontist during procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with both children and adults. Responsibilities Assist the orthodontist during various procedures, including fitting braces and other orthodontic appliances. Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment in accordance with aseptic techniques. Manage patient records and ensure accurate medical documentation is maintained. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and the care of orthodontic appliances. Take medical imaging as needed, including X-rays, to support treatment planning. Monitor and record vital signs of patients prior to procedures. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow. Adhere to HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Provide support in pediatric dentistry settings, ensuring a comfortable experience for younger patients. Experience Previous experience as an Orthodontic Assistant or in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory. Familiarity with medical terminology, dental practices, and procedures related to general dentistry and prosthodontics is advantageous. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles is a plus. Proficiency in medical documentation practices and understanding of HIPAA regulations is essential. Experience with medical imaging techniques will be beneficial for this role.
