The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and providing exceptional dental care in a friendly and supportive environment. This role involves assisting the dentist during procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring a safe and welcoming atmosphere for our young patients. Duties Assist the dentist in chairside procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow during treatments. Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment, adhering to infection control protocols. Take X-rays and perform medical imaging as needed, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Manage patient records using EMR systems such as XDR and Open Dental, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history and treatment plans. Educate patients and their families on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Monitor vital signs as necessary during procedures to ensure patient safety. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following aseptic techniques at all times. Support the dental receptionist with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow when required. Experience Previous experience in pediatric dentistry or dental assisting is preferred. Familiarity with dental terminology, medical documentation, and medical coding is advantageous. Knowledge of four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures. Understanding of anatomy knowledge related to dentistry, including prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry practices. Experience with infection control protocols in a clinical setting is essential. Proficiency in using 3D scanners or other advanced dental technology is a plus. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and the dental team.
