In this vital role, you will assist dentists during procedures, manage patient records with precision, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and aseptic technique. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment in accordance with infection control protocols. Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) while ensuring patient safety and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage electronic medical records using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate documentation of medical histories, treatment plans, and medical coding. Provide vital signs monitoring and medical imaging support as needed to support comprehensive patient assessments. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist and updating medical documentation in Epic or similar systems. Demonstrate proficiency in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and the use of advanced tools like 3D scanners for precise diagnostics. Experience Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is required, with familiarity in general dentistry procedures and pediatric dentistry preferred. Hands-on experience with dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry, chairside assisting, aseptic technique, and infection control practices. Knowledge of dental software platforms such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards. Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical coding, and the use of EMR systems to ensure accurate recordkeeping. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and supporting young patients through their dental visits is highly advantageous.
