This dual-role position offers an exciting opportunity to provide exceptional patient care while managing front desk operations seamlessly. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and possess a strong background in dental and medical administrative support. You will play a vital role in creating a welcoming environment for patients, assisting with clinical procedures, and ensuring smooth office workflows. Your enthusiasm and professionalism will help foster positive patient experiences and support the overall success of our practice. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify insurance coverage, and schedule appointments using dental practice management software , preferably Open Dental. Manage multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, handling inquiries, appointment scheduling, and patient follow-up efficiently. Assist dental providers during procedures by preparing instruments, taking X-rays, and maintaining sterilization protocols in compliance with OSHA standards. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like Meditech or Athenahealth, including documentation review and medical history updates. Verify insurance benefits, process claims, and perform medical billing using CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding standards, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Handle administrative tasks such as filing medical records, managing patient intake forms, and supporting health information management activities. Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient concerns promptly and professionally while maintaining confidentiality of protected health information (PHI). Qualifications Prior experience in a dental clinic or medical office environment is highly preferred; familiarity with dental terminology and clinic workflows is a plus. Strong computer skills with proficiency practice management software preferable Open dental. Knowledge of medical coding (CPT, ICD-10/ICD-9), insurance verification processes, and medical billing procedures. Excellent communication skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting; bilingual abilities are advantageous. Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA compliance, health information management standards, and documentation review processes. Office experience including front desk duties, medical administrative support, scheduling, filing, and multi-line phone operation. Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while providing outstanding patient service with professionalism and empathy.
