In this vital role, you will support dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the clinic operates smoothly and efficiently. Your expertise in dental procedures, infection control, and medical documentation will help us deliver top-quality dental services across general dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Responsibilities Assist dentists chairside during a variety of dental procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric treatments. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies while maintaining aseptic techniques and infection control standards. Take dental X-rays using digital imaging systems such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners; ensure proper radiation safety protocols are followed. Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, taking vital signs, and assisting with medical documentation and coding as needed. Support the dental reception area by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing medical records efficiently. Maintain a clean and organized clinic environment adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to promote patient safety. Requirements Proven experience working in a dental clinic setting with familiarity in general dentistry procedures is preferred. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with Epic or other medical documentation platforms is a plus. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards; experience with 3D scanners is advantageous. Skilled in chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and managing vital signs during procedures. Knowledge of medical coding for dental procedures and familiarity with HIPAA compliance requirements for patient privacy. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team supporting general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry specialties.
