Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, managing patient care, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Experience with EMR systems and a strong understanding of dental procedures are essential to deliver high-quality patient services in a fast-paced environment. Duties Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, maintaining aseptic techniques and infection control protocols Take and develop X-rays, including 3D scans, ensuring patient safety and comfort Record vital signs and medical history, ensuring accurate medical documentation in EMR systems such as Dentrix and Open Dental Manage patient records and medical coding in compliance with HIPAA regulations Educate patients on dental procedures and post-treatment care using appropriate dental terminology Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency Maintain inventory of dental supplies and sterilize instruments according to infection control standards Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing medical records when needed Skills Proficiency with EMR systems including Dentrix, Open Dental, or similar platforms Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control procedures Experience with dental imaging techniques including X-ray and 3D scanner technology Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry Ability to perform chairside assisting with proficiency in four-handed dentistry techniques Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and pediatric patient care Competence in taking vital signs and understanding medical documentation processes Experience working in general dentistry settings or specialized fields such as prosthodontics or endodontics is preferred Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages, including pediatrics Join our team to provide compassionate dental care while advancing your skills in a professional environment committed to excellence.
