Job Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Back Office Assistant, where your expertise will be vital in ensuring smooth and efficient clinical operations. In this energetic role, you will support the dental team by managing medical and dental records, assisting with patient care coordination, and maintaining a sterile, organized environment. Your proactive approach will help deliver exceptional patient experiences and uphold the highest standards of infection control and clinical excellence. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow within a vibrant healthcare setting dedicated to comprehensive dental care. Duties Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic to ensure accurate and confidential documentation of patient information. Assist with chairside procedures by preparing materials, passing instruments, and maintaining aseptic technique during treatments like endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Take and process dental X-rays using appropriate medical imaging techniques while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Support the dental team in four-handed dentistry practices to optimize workflow efficiency and patient comfort. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation for patients requiring medical clearance or pediatric dental care. Maintain infection control protocols, including sterilization of instruments, managing 3D scanners, and ensuring a clean clinical environment. Prepare treatment rooms, organize supplies, and assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and verifying insurance information. Skills Proficiency in EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic for seamless record management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to general dentistry and specialized fields such as prosthodontics and endodontics. Experience with X-ray procedures, medical imaging techniques, and 3D scanner operation. Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards to protect patient confidentiality at all times. Ability to perform chairside assisting with a focus on aseptic technique and infection control practices. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry procedures and pediatrics-specific protocols for young patients. Excellent organizational skills to manage medical records, coding for billing purposes, and documentation of medical history accurately.
