In this energetic role, you will support dentists by preparing treatment areas, assisting during procedures, and ensuring patient comfort and safety. Your expertise will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel cared for and confident in their dental experience. Duties Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies for various dental procedures. Assist dentists chairside during examinations, cleanings, restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, ensuring proper technique and patient safety. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft while maintaining HIPAA compliance for confidentiality. Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring comfort throughout visits. Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient health status during appointments. Maintain infection control protocols using aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures to ensure a safe clinical environment. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and assisting the dental receptionist as needed. Assist with medical imaging and record keeping for comprehensive dental and medical documentation. Collaborate in four-handed dentistry practices to optimize efficiency during procedures. Qualifications Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic or similar platforms is a plus. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques. Ability to operate X-ray equipment safely and effectively; certification in X-ray techniques preferred. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience working with pediatric patients is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with patients of all ages including pediatrics. Ability to perform vital signs assessment and medical imaging accurately while maintaining patient comfort. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills for managing medical records and documentation efficiently. Certification in dental assisting or equivalent training; familiarity with medical coding and documentation is advantageous.
