Job Description
Job Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant, where your enthusiasm and expertise will help create a welcoming environment for patients seeking exceptional oral care. Duties Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, while adhering to strict radiation safety protocols. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Open Dental, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support infection control practices through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures to maintain a safe clinical environment. Gather vital signs and medical history information from patients to assist in comprehensive treatment planning. Coordinate with the dental reception team to schedule appointments, update medical documentation, and facilitate smooth patient flow. Skills Proficiency with dental software platforms including Open Dental for managing medical records and documentation. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Experience with chairside assisting techniques such as four-handed dentistry to enhance efficiency during procedures. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners with precision. Familiarity with infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization processes essential for maintaining a safe clinic environment. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with dentists, hygienists, reception staff, and patients of all ages—especially pediatrics.
