The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting procedures, patient care, and clinic management. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting dentists during procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and clinical excellence. This position offers an engaging environment where your expertise directly contributes to improving patients' oral health and overall experience. 4 days a week in Beverly Hills 1-2 days a week in Long Beach Duties Assist dentists during various dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow and patient safety. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners, and ensuring all materials are ready for use. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), maintaining proper technique and adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality. Manage electronic medical records using EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate documentation of patient histories, treatment plans, and medical coding. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and explain procedures using appropriate dental terminology. Maintain infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization protocols to ensure a safe clinical environment. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist and managing medical documentation efficiently. Perform vital signs assessment for pediatric patients or those requiring medical evaluation before treatment to ensure safety during procedures. Assist with medical imaging procedures using X-ray equipment or 3D scanners to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning. Uphold compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of all medical records and patient information. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry practices. Knowledge of dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, infection control, aseptic technique, and anatomy knowledge relevant to oral structures. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic or similar platforms is advantageous. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry procedures and working effectively with children is preferred. Understanding of medical terminology, medical documentation standards, and medical coding practices related to dental care. Experience operating dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other diagnostic tools required for comprehensive patient assessments. Strong organizational skills combined with excellent communication abilities to coordinate seamlessly between clinical staff and patients.
