The ideal candidate will support dentists in providing exceptional patient care, ensuring smooth clinic operations, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. This role involves chairside assisting, patient management, and adherence to all safety and infection control protocols. Experience with electronic medical records systems such as Practice Web or Open Dental is preferred. A strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, and various dental specialties including but not limited to, oral surgery, prosthodontics & endodontics will be highly valued. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive dental services while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, endodontics, oral surgery and prosthodontics Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners while following aseptic techniques and infection control standards. Take dental radiographs (X-ray) ensuring patient safety and proper documentation. Record vital signs, medical history, and other relevant medical documentation accurately in Practice Web/Open Dental Manage patient records securely in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide chairside assistance using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency during procedures. Educate patients on oral health care instructions and post-treatment care. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment adhering to infection control protocols. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical coding, and assisting with front desk duties as needed. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic setting. Proficiency with EMR systems Open Dental or similar systems Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and various dental specialties Certification in X-ray operation and understanding of medical imaging procedures. Familiarity with infection control practices and aseptic techniques. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently with excellent attention to detail. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to medical records and patient privacy. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
