Job Summary Join our dynamic dental team as an Orthodontic Dental Assistant, where your expertise will directly enhance patient care and transform smiles! In this energetic role, you will support our orthodontist by providing exceptional chairside assistance, managing patient flow, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Your attention to detail and passion for dental health will help create a welcoming environment for patients of all ages. One year minimum experience required. Duties Assist orthodontists during procedures such as bracket placement, wire adjustments, and appliance fittings with precision and efficiency. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards. Take and develop dental X-rays, including panoramic and 3D scans, ensuring proper patient positioning and safety protocols are followed. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and medical coding. Educate patients on orthodontic care, appliance maintenance, and oral hygiene practices tailored to pediatric dentistry needs. Collaborate seamlessly in a four-handed dentistry setup with the dentist for efficient treatment delivery. Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment adhering to infection control protocols and OSHA standards. Stay current with advancements in dental technology including the use of digital scanners (3D) for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Experience Proven experience working in a dental clinic setting with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. Prior experience assisting with orthodontic treatments is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practice. Competence in taking X-rays (including pediatric radiography) and understanding of dental imaging techniques. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles to effectively support young patients during treatment.
