Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to strict safety protocols and radiation guidelines Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance at all times Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, suctioning, and maintaining a clear and organized workspace Gather vital signs and medical history information to support comprehensive patient assessments Educate patients on post-treatment care and answer questions about procedures or billing processes Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including aseptic technique, infection control, and anatomy knowledge Knowledge of dental terminology Skilled in taking X-rays Ability to perform four-handed dentistry efficiently alongside the dentist to improve workflow Strong understanding of infection control protocols and sterilization procedures within a dental clinic setting This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to advance their career in general dentistry.
