Duties Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures in pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth and efficient patient experiences. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental materials, and ensuring all necessary equipment is ready for procedures. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging tools such as 3D scanners while adhering to proper aseptic techniques and radiation safety protocols. Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and data security. Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort before, during, and after treatments to support overall health and safety. Support administrative tasks such as greeting patients as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, and managing medical documentation and records efficiently. Maintain infection control standards by following strict sterilization procedures and adhering to OSHA guidelines to ensure a safe clinical environment at all times. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, four-handed dentistry, and handling dental terminology with confidence. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, or Dentrix for accurate documentation of medical records and coding. Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, anatomy, and dental terminology essential for supporting diverse dental procedures. Ability to operate medical imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners safely and effectively. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry principles to provide compassionate care tailored to children's needs. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information at all times. Excellent communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with dentists, patients, and administrative staff in a fast-paced environment.
