The ideal candidate will support the dental team by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with procedures, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and proficiency with dental software systems. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in delivering high-quality dental services across general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, orthodontics, and endodontics. Job description:
Private ,fee for service general dentist office seeking immediate dental assistant 4 x a week. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 8am to 5pm Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Assist dentists during various procedures including chairside assisting, medical imaging, and vital signs monitoring. Take and develop X-rays using digital imaging systems such as 3D scanners and other medical imaging tools. Manage patient records accurately using Open Dental , ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on treatment plans, post-operative care, and oral health maintenance using appropriate dental terminology. Maintain aseptic techniques and infection control standards to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, updating medical documentation, and managing medical coding for billing purposes. Assist with the operation of dental equipment and ensure proper functioning of tools like the 3D scanner and other dental technology. Skills Proficiency with EMR systems including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic, and familiarity with medical records management. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times. Experience in chairside assisting across general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, orthodontics and endodontics. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while maintaining infection control standards. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Familiarity with dental assisting certifications and aseptic techniques essential for infection control. Experience with medical imaging devices such as 3D scanners and digital X-ray systems. Ability to work effectively within a team environment supporting both clinical and administrative functions related to dental care.
