As a Reliable Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care by supporting dentists during procedures and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable and cared for. Duties Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and sterile. Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Take dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage patient medical records and documentation accurately using EMR systems such as open dental, including medical coding and medical imaging records. Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort before, during, and after procedures while maintaining aseptic technique to prevent infection. Support the dental reception process by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and updating patient data in Epic or other electronic health record systems. Maintain infection control standards by adhering to OSHA guidelines, sterilizing equipment, and practicing proper anatomy knowledge for safe procedures. Assist with the use of advanced technology such as 3D scanners for prosthodontics or endodontic treatments to improve diagnostic accuracy. Skills Proficiency with EMR systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing medical documentation and records. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Experience with dental assisting tasks including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, vital signs measurement, and medical imaging. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry procedures and working with pediatric patients is highly desirable. Ability to operate dental equipment such as 3D scanners and general dentistry tools confidently. Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist when interacting with patients and team members. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
