Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing outstanding patient care. In this role, you will support dentists during various procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the smooth operation of the dental office. Your expertise in dental terminology, infection control, and medical documentation will contribute significantly to delivering high-quality dental services in a professional environment. Duties Assist dentists during clinical procedures by preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and providing chairside support using four-handed dentistry techniques. Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Manage patient records accurately within systems Dentrix , ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collect vital signs and medical history information to support comprehensive patient assessments. Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the dental operatory, ensuring all equipment is properly sterilized and functioning correctly. Support administrative duties including scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist and managing medical documentation within Epic or similar systems. Assist with specialized procedures in pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, or general dentistry as needed. Uphold strict infection control standards and maintain knowledge of anatomy to assist effectively during complex procedures.

Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment with proficiency in chairside assisting and dental assisting techniques. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security. Experience with X-ray imaging, including digital radiography and 3D scanning technologies. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Background in pediatric dentistry or general dentistry is preferred; experience in prosthodontics or endodontics is a plus. Demonstrated ability to perform infection control procedures accurately while maintaining aseptic techniques. Excellent communication skills suitable for interacting with patients of all ages, including children in pediatrics-focused practices. Pay:
$31.00 - $40.00 per hour
