In this vital role, you will work closely with our dentists to provide exceptional patient care, ensure smooth office operations, and maintain a safe and sterile environment. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, an aptitude for organization, and a commitment to helping patients feel comfortable and well-informed.
Key Responsibilities Patient Care and Support:
Greet and prepare patients for treatments, ensure their comfort throughout procedures, and provide post-operative care and oral hygiene instructions.
Chairside Assistance:
Assist the dentist during a variety of examinations and procedures by handing instruments, using suction, and anticipating their needs.
Sterilization & Infection Control:
Prepare and sanitize treatment rooms, instruments, and equipment following strict infection control protocols and safety guidelines (e.g., OSHA).
Radiography:
Take and process high-quality dental X-rays as needed, adhering to all safety regulations.
Administrative Support:
Manage patient records and documentation (using EMR software like Open Dental , schedule appointments, manage inventory, and assist with front desk tasks as needed.
Lab Duties:
Perform basic lab tasks such as taking dental impressions
Qualifications & Skills Required Certifications/Education:
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Preferred qualifications include completion of an accredited dental assisting program, current CPR/BLS certification, and X-ray certification as mandated by state regulations. RDA license is a plus, not a requirement.
Technical Skills:
Candidates should have knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, and procedures, be proficient with dental software and basic computer skills, and understand health and safety regulations like HIPAA and OSHA.
Soft Skills:
Essential soft skills include excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with a patient-focused approach, strong organizational skills and attention to detail, the capacity to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
