ORTHODONTIC ASSISTANT

We are seeking an experienced Orthodontic RDA/OA to join our practice and play a key role in supporting our clinical team.

Responsibilities:

• Provide chairside assistance to the orthodontist during all orthodontic procedures
• Take orthodontic records, including digital scans, impressions, intraoral/extraoral photos, and radiographs
• Place and remove archwires, separators, and orthodontic appliances under doctor direction
• Perform expanded functions permitted by the California Dental Board for RDAs/OAs
• Educate patients and parents on appliance care, treatment expectations, and oral hygiene instructions
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and treatment notes
• Sterilize instruments, maintain infection control protocols, and support OSHA compliance
• Contribute to an efficient clinical flow and a positive patient experience

Qualifications:

• Current California RDA/OA license and X-ray certification (must be active and in good standing)
• Minimum 1-2 years of orthodontic assisting experience required
• Strong knowledge of orthodontic procedures, appliances, and materials
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented, dependable, and a strong team player
