We are adding coverage to cover maternity leave and grow to our fullest potential :) We are looking for full time (Tues-Friday, one half sat a month). •Please only apply if you either have experience with pediatrics or LOVE kids! •Phone/facetime interviews first before in person shadowing opportunity. Pediatric Dental Assistant Responsibilities Assist the pediatric dentist during dental examinations and procedures Prepare and organize treatment rooms, dental instruments, and patients for each visit Comfort and communicate with children and parents to ensure a positive dental experience Take and develop dental X-rays as directed by the dentist Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment according to infection control protocols Record patient medical and dental histories, vital signs, and treatment information Educate children and parents on proper oral hygiene, prevention, and post-treatment care Apply dental sealants and fluoride treatments as instructed by the dentist Manage patient flow and appointment scheduling to ensure efficient operations Maintain a clean, safe, and child-friendly environment in the dental office Assist with advanced pediatric dentistry procedures (such as airway evaluations, laser TOTs, minimally invasive dentistry, nutrition education, and dietary counseling) Help create a calm, happy space for young patients and support a positive team culture Pediatric Dental Assistant Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required Completion of a dental assistant training program or equivalent experience preferred Current dental assistant certification and valid X-ray certification (as required by state regulations) Previous experience working with children or in a pediatric dental setting is a plus, but we are happy to train the right person Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with children and parents Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and infection control practices Basic computer skills for electronic health records and scheduling CPR and First Aid certification preferred Compassionate, patient, and friendly demeanor Eagerness to learn and grow professionally Dependable, fun, and team-oriented attitude Reliable commute to Oakland, CA 94619 or willingness to relocate Availability for a schedule of Tuesdays-Fridays, with one Saturday morning per month, 7:15am-5:15pm (with lunch break)
