Join our dynamic dental team as a Hybrid Dental Assistant and Receptionist, where you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care while managing back and front-office responsibilities. This energetic position combines clinical support with administrative duties, ensuring smooth operations within a cozy, family-oriented dental practice. You'll utilize your expertise in dental procedures and patient communication to create a welcoming environment for patients of all ages.
Schedule:
Tuesdays and Thursdays (7:00 AM- 4:00 PM) with potential for more days as our office continues to grow. Responsibilities Conduct routine sterilization of instruments and dental treatment rooms and maintain a clean clinical environment following infection control standards. Assist dentists during various procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery, using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are strictly followed. Take dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, while maintaining proper radiation safety measures (with proper certifications) Manage patient check-in and check-out processes using EMR systems such as Dentrix; verify and update medical records accurately. Collect vital signs and medical history information to support comprehensive patient assessments. Handle appointment scheduling, patient inquiries, and insurance verification as a knowledgeable dental receptionist. Maintain confidentiality of medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations; ensure accurate medical coding for billing purposes. Support the dental team with chairside assisting during various procedures Experience Strong organizational skills combined with excellent communication abilities will help you excel in this hybrid role that blends clinical support with administrative excellence Dental assisting or dental receptionist experience in general dentistry practice preferred but not required (1-3 years) Proficiency in dental assisting tasks such as X-ray taking, chairside assisting, and vital signs measurement highly preferred Familiarity with EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic enhances workflow efficiency. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, medical terminology, and infection control procedures is required to ensure compliance and patient safety Reliable, punctual, and able to follow clinical protocols closely Interest in learning and developing skills in general dentistry and advanced procedures Infection control training is a plus but not required California X-ray certification preferred Ready to start your new career?
