The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care, supporting clinical procedures, and maintaining a safe and efficient dental environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced, patient-centered setting where attention to detail and professionalism are highly valued. Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental materials, and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly in accordance with infection control protocols. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including 3D scans when applicable, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic to accurately document patient information, treatment plans, and medical history. Perform chairside assisting with aseptic technique, vital signs measurement, and medical imaging to support comprehensive patient care. Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist and managing patient flow efficiently. Ensure compliance with infection control standards and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment. Support the dental team by providing education on dental terminology and procedures to patients of all ages, including pediatrics. Assist with medical documentation and coding related to dental procedures for accurate record-keeping and billing purposes. Experience Previous experience working in a dental clinic environment is required, ideally with exposure to general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, or endodontics. Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable. Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology is essential for this role. Familiarity with medical imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners will be advantageous. Experience in handling medical records management and medical coding enhances efficiency in documentation processes. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations ensures confidentiality and proper handling of patient information. Certification as a DA or RDA is required; ongoing education in dental assisting or related fields is preferred to stay current with industry standards.
