Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring smooth and efficient patient care in a fast-paced dental environment. Your expertise will support various dental procedures, maintain infection control standards, and foster a welcoming atmosphere for our patients. This position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in general dentistry, prosthodontics, cosmedic dentistry, and other specialties while contributing to the health and confidence of our patients. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during a wide range of dental procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use according to aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage patient records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; document treatment details and medical history thoroughly. Monitor vital signs and medical imaging as needed for patient assessments, especially in pediatric dentistry or medically complex cases. Maintain infection control protocols by following OSHA standards and ensuring all clinical areas are sanitized regularly. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering patient questions, and assisting the dental receptionist with medical documentation and records management. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and the importance of routine dental visits to promote overall wellness. Requirements Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) with current certification. Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with proficiency in dental assisting procedures. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Familiarity with EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic or similar medical documentation systems is a plus. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards. Strong understanding of pediatric dentistry principles and experience working with children is preferred. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and educate patients about their oral health.
