Job Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant, where your energy and expertise will help create a positive and efficient patient experience. In this vital role, you will support dentists during procedures, ensure infection control standards are maintained, and assist with administrative tasks to keep the clinic running smoothly. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental materials, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly. Assist dentists during various procedures such as cleanings, restorations, extractions, and prosthodontics with precision and confidence. Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Provide chairside assistance by handling dental tools, suctioning, and maintaining a clear field of operation during treatments. Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-treatment instructions, and answer their questions with clarity and professionalism. Support administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, updating medical histories, and managing medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA standards. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and aseptic technique. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and medical imaging including X-ray procedures. Experience with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with Epic or other medical documentation platforms is a plus. Ability to accurately record vital signs and assist with pediatric dentistry procedures when needed. Knowledge of dental specialties such as endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry practices. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members like dental receptionists and hygienists. Understanding of HIPAA regulations for safeguarding patient privacy and medical records management. $26.00 - $31.31 per hour
