This role offers an exciting opportunity to be the first point of contact for patients while actively supporting clinical operations. You will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care, managing appointment schedules, and assisting with dental procedures. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, professionalism, and a strong understanding of dental practices to create a welcoming environment and ensure smooth daily operations. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, check them in and out efficiently, and manage appointment scheduling using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft. Verify patient insurance information, process payments, and handle medical documentation with accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist the dental team during procedures by preparing instruments, maintaining aseptic technique, and providing chairside assistance for general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and other specialties. Take vital signs, perform X-ray imaging, operate 3D scanners, and assist with medical imaging procedures while ensuring patient comfort and safety. Maintain infection control standards by sterilizing instruments, managing medical records, and adhering to OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) guidelines. Manage phone calls, answer patient inquiries professionally, and coordinate appointment follow-ups to optimize clinic workflow. Support clinical staff with dental terminology knowledge and assist with medical coding for accurate billing and record keeping. Requirements Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting or similar healthcare environment is preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with Epic or other medical documentation platforms is a plus. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and anatomy relevant to dentistry. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while maintaining patient comfort; experience with medical imaging tools like 3D scanners is advantageous. Strong understanding of dental terminology, chairside assisting skills including four-handed dentistry techniques, and proficiency in taking vital signs. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly using dental and medical terminology. Certification in dental assisting or related fields is desirable; ongoing training in pediatric dentistry or endodontics is a bonus.
