Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dental Assistant with at least two years of hands-on experience to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will support dentists in providing exceptional patient care, ensuring smooth clinical operations, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. Your expertise in dental procedures, patient communication, and clinical technology will contribute to creating a welcoming environment where patients feel cared for and confident in their dental health journey. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused setting that values professionalism, teamwork, and continuous learning. Duties Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring efficient workflow and patient comfort. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including 3D scans when applicable, accurately documenting findings for diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records usibg open dental while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Perform vital signs assessment and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures; assist with chairside assisting using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency. Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral hygiene practices to promote ongoing oral health. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing medical documentation to streamline clinic operations. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment following infection control protocols and ensuring all equipment is properly sanitized. Skills Proficiency with open dental for accurate documentation and record keeping. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding to facilitate clear communication within the team. Experience with dental imaging techniques including X-ray technology and 3D scanners for comprehensive diagnostics. Familiarity with infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures essential for safe clinical practice. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in general dentistry settings as well as specialized areas such as prosthodontics or pediatrics. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles to effectively support young patients during their visits. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with dental receptionists, hygienists, specialists, and patients alike. Understanding of HIPAA compliance requirements related to medical records management and confidentiality.
