Job Description
Are you ready for a change? Are you wanting the care of your patients to be the primary focus, and not some production goal? Are you hoping to find a better work environment and atmosphere? We prefer someone with RDA chairside experience, but are willing to train and nurture a new upbeat registered dental assistant (RDA). If we cannot find and have the ideal connection with a qualified RDA , we may consider a DA who is currently working toward their RDA certificate. We are looking for a competent, friendly RDA who will help our dental office continue to be efficient and pleasant for patients. Your exceptional patient care, organizational skills, willingness and ability to follow established safety guidelines, and attention to detail will be appreciated. We want you to be a part of our team; working respectfully, confidently, and happily with each of us. Your skill in providing direct or indirect patient care will contribute to office procedures flowing smoothly. There is no need for Extended Functions. The office is open Monday thru Thursday with patient hours 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, and a lunch break between noon and 1:00 pm. Salary will be negotiated with consideration given to skills, experience, and our discussion. Dr. Pettey established this friendly and caring dental practice in 1990, and has maintained a consistent quality that continues to attract and service a diverse population from Roseville, Granite Bay, Rocklin, Lincoln, Citrus Heights, Folsom and other surrounding communities. Our source of new patients is rooted in our existing patients who invite their friends, family, co-workers, neighbors and others. •Our website is down and under reconstruction. Responsibilities Welcome customers in the dental office Prepare customers for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed Sterilize instruments according to regulations Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry Assist the hygienists as needed Undertake lab tasks as instructed Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked Perform regular equipment maintenance and procedures Schedule appointments Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures Follow current health and safety guidelines Assist in any other office tasks as needed and assist all others on the team Skills Proven experience as dental assistant Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods Understanding of health & safety regulations Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing is a plus Good computer skills Excellent communication and people skills Attention to detail Well-organized and reliable High school diploma; graduating from dental assistant school is preferred
