As an RDA, you will play a vital role in supporting dentists with chairside assistance, patient management, and clinical procedures. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help ensure smooth operations and positive patient experiences every day. Duties Assist dentists during a variety of treatment procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring optimal patient comfort and safety. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, maintaining strict aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including digital imaging and 3D scans, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Epic, or similar platforms to document treatment details accurately. Perform vital signs assessments and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care, especially in pediatric or medically complex cases. Support front desk operations by handling dental receptionist duties such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient flow efficiently. Maintain clinical supplies inventory, sterilize instruments, and ensure all equipment meets infection control standards in accordance with OSHA guidelines. Educate patients on dental procedures using clear dental terminology and explain post-treatment care instructions effectively. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. Hands-on experience with EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft; knowledge of Epic or similar platforms is a plus. Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and anatomy knowledge relevant to dental procedures. Experience assisting with pediatric dentistry cases is highly desirable. Knowledge of medical terminology and medical coding for accurate documentation and billing processes. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while following all radiation safety standards; certification in X-ray technology required. Familiarity with dental specialties such as prosthodontics or endodontics enhances your versatility within the team.
