This role combines vital clinical support with front desk administrative duties, ensuring patients receive exceptional care and service from the moment they walk through our doors. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help create a welcoming environment while managing essential office operations seamlessly. Duties Greet patients warmly, verify their insurance coverage, and assist with patient intake and appointment scheduling using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft. Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, responding promptly to inquiries and directing calls appropriately. Prepare and update patient records accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist dental providers during procedures by handing instruments, maintaining a sterile environment, and documenting treatment details meticulously. Perform insurance verification, process claims, and handle medical billing using medical coding standards such as
CPT, ICD-10/ICD-9
codes, and medical collection procedures. Maintain organized filing of medical records and dental charts, ensuring all documentation review is thorough and up-to-date. Support office management tasks including appointment reminders, patient follow-up calls, and managing office supplies inventory to keep the clinic efficient. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic or medical office environment is highly preferred. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Athenahealth; familiarity with Meditech or similar platforms is a plus. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), and insurance billing processes. Experience with health information management systems like Office Management software or electronic medical records is essential. Bilingual skills are advantageous to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Proven ability to provide excellent patient service while managing clerical tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) along with typing skills such as 10-key typing for data entry accuracy.
