Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all dental equipment is ready for procedures in accordance with dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management standards. Assist dentists chairside during various treatments including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery, providing support with dental instruments and materials. Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans using advanced imaging technology while adhering to radiation safety protocols and HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Manage medical documentation by accurately recording patient information, vital signs, medical history, and treatment details within electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Ensure clinical confidentiality policies are strictly followed while handling sensitive medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA standards. Perform dental instrument processing including sterilization, disinfection, and inventory management to maintain a sterile environment aligned with infection control policies. Support front desk operations as needed by performing dental receptionist duties such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage through medical coding practices, and managing patient flow efficiently. Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures to effectively assist in diverse treatment scenarios involving pediatric dentistry or complex cases like endodontics or oral surgery.
