In this vital role, you will support dentists in delivering exceptional dental treatments, ensure smooth chairside assistance, and uphold the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will contribute to creating a welcoming environment for patients of all ages, including pediatric dentistry cases. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills within a collaborative and fast-paced dental practice. Duties Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring efficient workflow. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies, maintaining aseptic technique at all times. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including digital imaging and 3D scans, adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality. Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and medical coding. Monitor vital signs and medical documentation for patients with special needs or medical conditions, supporting safe treatment planning. Educate patients on oral health care instructions and post-treatment care while demonstrating excellent dental terminology communication skills. Maintain infection control protocols and sterilization procedures in compliance with OSHA standards to ensure a safe clinical environment. Support front desk responsibilities by coordinating appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and managing medical records efficiently. Requirements Valid RDA license or DA certification with current state licensing requirements met. Proven experience in dental assisting within a general or pediatric dentistry setting; familiarity with dental terminology is essential. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic or similar medical documentation platforms is a plus. Strong knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, anatomy, and dental procedures including chairside assisting. Ability to operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and medical imaging tools confidently. Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly to patients of all ages; experience working with pediatric patients is highly desirable. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
