Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA), where your expertise will help create a welcoming, efficient, and high-quality patient care environment. In this vital role, you will assist dentists during procedures, manage patient comfort, and ensure the smooth operation of daily clinical activities. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will contribute to delivering exceptional dental services across general dentistry and specialized fields such as pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Duties Assist dentists chairside during a variety of dental procedures including restorations, extractions, root canals, and prosthetic placements using aseptic techniques. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies while maintaining strict infection control protocols aligned with HIPAA regulations. Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging, including 3D scans, ensuring proper positioning and safety standards are met. Manage patient records electronically using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and medical coding. Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and treatment plans to enhance understanding and compliance. Support administrative tasks including answering the dental receptionist phone line, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and updating medical records. Perform vital signs assessments for pediatric and adult patients to monitor health status prior to procedures. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by adhering to infection control standards and aseptic techniques. Collaborate with team members in four-handed dentistry practices to optimize workflow efficiency during procedures. Assist with medical documentation related to dental procedures for compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Assistant with current certification in X-ray radiation safety. Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures and terminology. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with Epic or similar medical records software is a plus. Strong understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, anatomy knowledge, and dental assisting best practices. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient rapport. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and experience working with pediatric patients is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical coding, and handling medical documentation accurately. Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with dentists, hygienists, patients, and administrative staff. $28.32 - $34.11 per hour
