Job Summary Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA/DA), where your expertise will directly enhance patient care and streamline clinical operations. In this vital role, you will assist dentists during a variety of procedures, manage patient comfort, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and safety. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies for various dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Assist dentists chairside during procedures such as restorations, extractions, root canals, and crown placements using four-handed dentistry techniques. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Operate digital imaging equipment including 3D scanners and medical imaging devices to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft; ensure all documentation complies with HIPAA standards for confidentiality. Perform vital signs assessment and medical history updates to support comprehensive patient care, especially in pediatric dentistry settings. Maintain strict infection control protocols through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures to uphold clinic safety standards. Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and acting as a dental receptionist when needed. Support the team with medical coding and documentation for insurance claims or medical records management. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and dental terminology to foster understanding and compliance. Experience Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. Knowledge of dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, infection control, anatomy knowledge, and aseptic technique. Hands-on experience operating EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with Epic or other medical documentation platforms is a plus. Competence in taking X-rays, utilizing 3D scanners, and performing medical imaging procedures safely. Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to medical records and data privacy. Experience working with pediatric patients is highly desirable, especially within pediatric dentistry environments. Strong grasp of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding practices relevant to dental care delivery. $28.32 - $34.10 per hour
