In this vital role, you will support dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Your proactive approach will help us deliver exceptional dental services across general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures by preparing treatment rooms and passing instruments efficiently using four-handed dentistry techniques. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when necessary, ensuring proper technique and patient comfort. Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for confidentiality. Perform chairside assisting tasks including taking vital signs, explaining procedures to patients, and maintaining aseptic techniques to prevent infection. Support infection control protocols by sterilizing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment in accordance with OSHA standards. Help with administrative duties such as scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist and updating medical documentation and records. Assist with medical imaging procedures and recordkeeping related to medical terminology, coding, and documentation to support comprehensive patient care. Requirements Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings. Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and understanding of anatomy is essential for effective communication and procedure support. Familiarity with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix is required; experience with Epic or other medical documentation platforms is a plus. Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures is critical for maintaining safety standards. Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while ensuring patient comfort; certification in X-ray technology is preferred. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics, and team members.
