Job Description

Dental Back Office Duties Focus:
Clinical support, patient care, and treatment preparation. 1. Patient Preparation & Assistance Escort patients to treatment rooms and make them comfortable. Review medical history, allergies, and patient concerns. Prepare patients for procedures by setting up instruments and supplies. 2. Chairside Assisting Assist dentist during examinations and procedures (passing instruments, suctioning, retracting, etc.). Anticipate dentist's needs to ensure efficient treatment. Mix and prepare dental materials (impressions, cements, composites). 3. Infection Control & Sterilization Follow OSHA and CDC guidelines for sterilization and disinfection. Clean and disinfect treatment rooms between patients. Maintain sterilization logs and infection control compliance. 4. Radiography & Records Take and develop dental X-rays (digital or film) as prescribed. Upload and organize images into patient records. Document treatment notes accurately in patient charts. 5. Lab & Equipment Maintenance Pour and trim models, fabricate temporary crowns, and other lab tasks as needed. Monitor and maintain dental equipment functionality. Report and arrange repairs when needed. 6. Patient Education & Post-Op Care Provide oral hygiene and post-treatment instructions. Ensure patients understand aftercare and next appointment needs.
