In this vital role, you will support dentists and hygienists by preparing treatment areas, assisting during procedures, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will contribute to delivering exceptional patient experiences while maintaining the highest standards of infection control and safety. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced, patient-centered setting dedicated to oral health excellence. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all supplies are ready for procedures. Assist dentists during various treatments by handing instruments, managing suction, and providing chairside support with precision and efficiency. Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain accurate medical records and document treatment details using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and answer questions to promote understanding and comfort. Follow infection control protocols by practicing aseptic techniques, handling medical imaging equipment safely, and adhering to OSHA standards. Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, managing patient check-in/out processes as a dental receptionist, and verifying insurance information. Requirements Prior experience working in a dental clinic or healthcare environment is highly preferred. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures across general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with Epic or similar medical documentation platforms is a plus. Certification in X-ray techniques for dental radiography; ability to operate 3D scanners or other medical imaging devices is advantageous. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and medical records management. Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist; ability to explain procedures clearly and compassionately to pediatric patients is desirable. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining aseptic technique and infection control standards. Knowledge of vital signs monitoring, medical coding, and basic medical terminology relevant to dental care is beneficial.
